Community4

Community 4 is a free, generic service. It is designed to help people secure and to maintain accommodation, by providing low to mid levels of support for multiple needs around accommodation and housing matters.

It is intended that our support will compliment other services and will NOT replace care packages provided by Health or Social Services.

Aims & Objectives

  • To promote quality of life, independence and inclusion.
  • To prevent homelessness and events leading to homelessness.
  • To rebuild lives.
  • To promote and enable opportunities for independent living.
  • To assist in the process of planned and successful move-on from specialist supported housing schemes.
  • To reduce the frequency and cost associated with accommodation breakdown and repossession.
  • To assist in the process of establishing stable and cohesive communities.
  • To reduce crime and the fear of crime.

Support should be available if applicants meet the following criteria, and if they agree to accept the support offered:

  • Not managing in their housing and/or at risk of losing their home.
  • Seeking housing because they have a housing need and require support to take up the offer and sustain their new home.

Case Categorisation

After accepting an application it will be triaged and allocated a category according to the presenting need, as follows:

Rapid Response/Priority - Applicants with circumstances that put them at imminent risk of homelessness, and applicants who are at significant risk of harm in their accommodation.

Resettlement - People who need support to take up an offer of accommodation or those requiring support to set up new accommodation.

General/Casework - All other applications that do not fall into one of the above categories but have a housing need.
